Philadelphia Art Museum is Free on Sundays – 1st of the months.

So keep in the back of your mind to visit the museum on the first Sundays of every month. It’s donation based each time and don’t show up the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Sunday of the month or you will end up paying around $26 per person. I like to kick up $5 or so, hey…..there’s a recession…..and a gift shop :)

So take a stroll and a sure pleaser with the kids is the Armory section with the Knights, swords and such. Cute joke I heard the other day….. why did the Dark Ages last so long? There was too many Knights.

Can you expect a 11yr old to NOT take a fuzzy picture?

Okay, my favorite piece, the Three Musicians. Taken with a iPhone so hence the blurry or fuzzy picture.

So my favorite is the Three Musicians. I remember as a kid one of my books had these guys on the front of one of my text books and it kinda freaked me out. My house or office tends to have landscape pictures like Ansel Adams or maps. Actually in my office now is the Blaeu Wall Maps. I like them as the old explorers were so excited to reach new lands and share them with others. Also if you look at Russia the entire border lines are always changing, even these days, with those guys.

Alot of “art” buying is also done with me at Goodwill. Yes, I admit it and people that know me just roll their eyes at this. I used to work at a frame shop putting in pictures or art into expensive frames. Even now the typical poster frame with glass is around $40. So if you drop into a Goodwill and see some ugly art or poster in a frame you can just replace with something you like. For example just buy a spiderman framed poster for around $5 and then go on ebay or whatever and buy a cheap print of your favorite topic. Then just switch it around. Just a hint, windex the glass on both sides for the clearest picture.

I will mention I have a weird sense of humor, sometimes the “art” I pick up at Goodwill might be too awesome to switch out. I have a habit of buying some frames with unknown family pictures in them and placing them on co-workers desks. It kills me to hear the conversions that follow. Also, what kind of cold family member just discards their family members in frames and drops them off at Goodwill? I mean take the pictures out folks……was that person that bad!?!?

Enjoy life you art lovers!

Free art shows is Philadelphia abound.

I love the fact that this warrior has a 50 pack.....I mean even his TOES have muscle on them. PBX90 Workout has nothing on this!
